Imagine being taken from your mother and father as a child, never being able to go to school again or play with your sisters and brothers. Moreover, you can’t even understand the local language afterwards. From just washing clothes outside your home, you can get abducted by being an 8-year-old child in South Sudan. Child abduction is considered a reliable way of making money in a country as South Sudan, where 80% of its people makes less than 1 dollar a day. In this video, you can take a look behind the scenes in Sudan. VICE news talks to the kidnappers, the abducted children and the family members. In addition, they also spoke to the authorities, which are indicating that they are doing all that’s possible to fight this issue, despite the fact that they were the ones who possibly started it. According to the governor of Boma state, David Yau Yau, they are applying all the efforts needed to get the children back.
