Overview: One day in May 2017, computers all around the world suddenly shut down. A malware called WannaCry asks for a ransom. The epidemic suddenly stops, because a young, British researcher finds a killswitch, by accident.
In this digitizing era, hackers are becoming increasingly commonplace, creating a growing problem. Last week, JBS, the world’s largest meat processor, paid $11 million after a cyberattack by hackers that shut down their slaughterhouses around the world. This documentary reveals how we are becoming more and more dependent on computers, and therefore more and more vulnerable to malpractices.
