WorldCom was a telecommunications company that went bankrupt in 2002 following a massive accounting fraud. WorldCom remains the biggest accounting scandal in U.S. history as well as one of the largest bankruptcies.
Scandals come in all shapes and sizes, but the WorldCom scandal outnumbers many. When the company’s fraudulent practices came to a head, it was Cynthia Cooper, vice president of the internal audit unit, who sounded the alarm, which led to the eventual demise of WorldCom. ColdFusion shows in this short documentary how greed can be your downfall if it knows no boundaries.
